Soccer Fellowship Report [28th October]
A record low turn-out of 6 players [at the start] did not deter us from having a good time. God even blessed us with a cool shower to signal half-time. We played a fast-paced game of 3 on 3 with the small red posts. Control, quickness and teamwork was the order of the day and definitely fitness too. Thanks to Mark, Mike Choo & Friend, John, Raymond, Samuel Eyo and Samuel Pang for turning up and the good game!

Soccer Fellowship [28th October]
Hi everyone, Soccer Fellowship is ON this Saturday, 5 - 7 pm @ Springfield Secondary School.
Haze or not, we've been having an excellent turn-out lately and some really enjoyable games.
This week, the teams will wear BLUE & RED. Please bring both colours if you can so that we can have equal representation on both teams and no one will have to play 'topless'.
Please note that this week, we will NOT be able to use the school car park and entrance. If you are driving, please park at the HDB Public Car Park in between blocks 888A and 889. The access to the Car Park is from Tampines Avenue 3. The gate to the field is next to block 888A.

Friendly Match Report [21st October]
Our relatively small squad (13 players) turned up eagerly anticipating a good game. We almost couldn't field a full team until Glenn and John decided to turn up almost straight from their overseas work commitments! KKMC turned up a fair bit late and did not have enough to field a team, so we generously donated (or did he generously volunteer his services?) Justin to them.
We started the match with a 4-1-4-1 formation and the moment the match kicked off, we realised a few things. Our opponents were much younger, faster, fitter and more skillful than we were. With an average age of 25, they were running the roost, especially in the middle of the park where we were struggling to cope with the pace and space they created for their offence. It wasn't long before we were a goal down after some goal mouth action when we failed to clear the ball from our own box. The only consolation- it was Justin who scored and not one of our 'real' opponents! The rest of the 1st half carried on with us unable to find an equaliser although Jingzhong did come close on 1 occasion, sidefooting his shot barely wide of the upright.
The 2nd half started very promisingly. Through a more ambitious 4-4-2 formation, we pressed forward with some bright attacking play and soon, were rewarded by John's moment of 'Ronaldinho'-like genius- a lob that left the opposition keeper wondering how the ball ended up in the back of his net. However, things came undone for the team again when in a 15 minute spell, KKMC attacked with a vengeance and managed to score 3 times, making the score 4-1 and leaving us flat out for the rest of the match. Before long, they had scored twice more before the match ended with a final score of 6-1 in favour of the visitors.
The match certainly gave us an opportunity to practice our defending! and perhaps to start thinking of options on our system and style of play, especially when we face much younger, fitter, faster and more skillful opponents.

Soccer Fellowship Report [14th October]
During the warm-ups it looked like it was going to be 3 Reds versus 20 Whites! Thankfully, the Reds managed to recruit some players to fill up the team.
This game had it all- a large number of players, competitiveness, goals from the head, feet, flukes, thunderbolts from long distance and even successfully converted penalties from both sides! I think everyone enjoyed themselves thorougly, and except for the slightly overcrowded pitch in the 1st half, everyone had a really good time.
We thank God that the haze didn't affect us very much even though the PSI was very close to 100 when we were playing. A quick check with a few players on Sunday just revealed some strained muscles and no major injuries. The only 'serious' concern is from Mark, who limped off with a calf muscle pull within 5 minutes of kick-off. Do pray for his recovery!

Soccer Fellowship Report [30th September]
An amazing good run-out @ Springfield Secondary. Again, we were truly blessed with excellent weather and a very soft pitch [thanks to the rain]! We really continue to thank God for His goodness to our Soccer Fellowship.
There was a little less space on the pitch this week with about a total of 26 players turning up at various times of the session. It was an exciting and fast-paced match throughout both halves. With the score level at 1 - 1 at halftime, the 2nd half proved to be very exciting as both teams fought hard for the victory. The Blues made the 1st move by taking a 2 - 1 lead but were again pegged back when the Reds equalised. Finally, the Reds found the greater drive and space and finished 4 - 2 victors. For the record...
