Introducing our new Soccer Team coach!

On behalf of the leaders, I am proud to announce that our Soccer Team is taking its next step forward in the right direction. After gathering a solid core of players and some respectable performances this year, we really want to move forward to make next year as successful as possible within the goals of our Soccer Community. We have received much feedback from players and we take every comment seriously. We realise that to do well, not only do we need to get to know one another on and off the field and play regularly, but we also need someone with the skills and experience to guide the team tactically and train us. We would like to thank Glenn & Sheldon who have led us this year and continue to look forward to playing with them.

To move forward, I would like to introduce William Seah as our Head Coach for the this coming year. William comes to us with plenty of experience, both as a player and as a coach. As a player for Jurong Football Club from 1984 – 1990, William played in every division within our Singapore league, including as a professional in the Premier League (before the S-league’s inception). He has league championship medals from Division 1, 2 and 3 and finished 3rd with Jurong Football Club in the first season of the Premier League. He also has a President’s Cup Championship medal to round up his collection. As a coach, William possesses an Asian Football Confederation ‘B’ license and is certified to coach at all league levels up to S-league. He has coached NFL Division 1 and 2 teams after his playing career ended. Most importantly, William is a member of our church who will do his best to balance our competitive desire with the goals of being good witnesses and developing character on and off the field.

The leaders have given William the autonomy to build up his team to assist him in managing and developing the team. In time, William may appoint some assistants from among the players and will also select his team captain and vice-captain. I encourage all of us to give William our full support, and to get to know him even as he starts his coaching role with us.
