After a short captains' briefing by Kevin and an opening prayer by Maurice, the tournament got underway on both the 7-a-side fields @ Springfield Secondary School. All the best to the teams taking part & enjoy yourselves in the spirit of friendship, fair play & sportsmanship!

Soccer Fellowship Report [4th August]

4th August saw the largest turn-out ever at a Soccer Fellowship session. About 60 players turned up to practice for the PMC Cup, taking place on 11th August. Most teams were intact with their full complement of players but some teams had to combine in order to get some practice matches.

The session started with Kevin opening in prayer and sharing the principle of "Gentlemen, try not to become men of success. Rather, become men of value". This was anchored in Proverbs 20:7 which says "The just man walketh in his integrity". Everyone was encouraged to become a person of value according to abilities and talents that God has given him, and not be clouded by success as a measure of one's value in any team or situation.

After Soccer Fellowship, the draw for the PMC Cup 2007 took place with the players as witnesses. The teams who were not represented had their lots drawn by volunteers. Everything looks set to get under way next week.
